Passport
You must send your physical passport; copies cannot be used for visa issuance. Your passport must be valid and contain sufficient blank visa pages. Visas are stamps affixed to the blank "visa" pages of your passport. Amendment pages (clearly marked as such) in the back of your passport are not acceptable for visa issuance. The passport's expiration date must be greater than six months from the date you plan to depart the country you intend to visit. If your passport does not meet the requirements, you must renew your passport or obtain a new one prior to obtaining the visa.
Passport-Style Photographs
Two (2) Passport photographs must meet Passport Photograph Regulations; recently taken and showing current appearance with a white background. Ensure that there is no damage to these photos and do not staple or glue the photos to the application.
Visa Requirements
Applicant’s valid passport with at least 6 months validity
Two (2) recent identical passport size photographs
Confirmed travel itinerary or airway ticket.
Appropriate applicable embassy visa fee, please see below for exact charges and acceptable forms of payment.
Letter of invitation from Sri Lanka authority/Company, stating applicants details, reasons and dates of travel must also be provided on this letter. This letter must be printed on the companies own letter head.

For multiple business visas, multiple business visa applications should be submitted in duplicate

Note:
Prior visa endorsement is needed for nationals of any country if they are visiting Sri Lanka for business purposes. Persons conducting business are classified as a person conducting trade and commercial transactions, foreign investment, business partnership, employment as well as those attending conferences, consultancy work, religious work etc. Visa for studies, residence and work are not normally issued unless the respective agencies in Sri Lanka have formally processed such applications and sought the approval of the Controller of Immigration and Emigration. Journalists of both print and electronic media need to obtain clearance from Sri Lankan authorities. Application should be submitted at least three weeks prior to the date of visit.
Also note that this Mission processes the following categories of Business visas:
• Business visa for maximum of 30 days
• Business visa maximum of 3 months with multiple entry facility
• Business visas for maximum period of 12 months with multiple entry facility.

An Australia dollar visa fee is applicable to persons extending their visas beyond 30 days as follows:

• Fijian Passport - A$ 64.00.
• PNG Passport - A$ 35.00.
• New Zealand Passport - A$ 70.00.
3 months double entry business visa:
• Australian Passport - A$ 120.00.
• Fijian Passport - A$ 128.00.
• PNG Passport - A$ 70.00.
• New Zealand Passport - A$ 140.00.
3 months multiple entry business:
• Australia - A$ 180.00.
• Fiji - A$ 192.00.
• PNG - A$ 105.00.
• New Zealand - A$ 210.00.
4-12 months double entry business visa:
• Australia - A$ 120.00 + Visa Tax of A$165.
• Fiji - A$ 128.00 + Visa Tax of A$165.
• PNG - A$ 70.00 + Visa Tax of A$165.
• New Zealand - A$ 140.00 + Visa Tax of A$165.
4-12 months single entry visa:
• Australia - A$ 120.00 + Visa Tax of A$165.

4-12 months multiple entry business visa:

Please make all payments payable to ‘the Sri Lanka High Commission.’ Payments can be made by money order or bank draft only.
Processing Times
All applicants should allow at least 10 working days for issuance of visas.
Once all applicable required forms and documentation has been fully completed and signed were applicable (as per above) and your passport is supplied, please send to our office in Canberra and we will begin the visa processing stage in association with the embassy. Please also ensure that once you have completed all applicable forms and supplied your passport that you also fully complete and sign the CLS Service Order form, as per below attached
