Passport
You must send your physical passport; copies cannot be used for visa issuance. Your passport's expiration date must be greater than six months from the date you plan to depart the country you intend to work in and must contain at least 2 adjacent blank pages. Foreign passport holders (i.e. not Australian or N.Z.) must submit an immigration residency permit showing at least two years prior residency
Passport-Style Photographs
Passport photographs must meet Passport Photograph Regulations; recently taken and showing current appearance on a plain, white background. Ensure that there is no damage to these photos and do not staple or glue the photos to the application form.
There are three types of Egyptian visas:
Tourist Visa
Is usually valid for a period not exceeding three months and granted on either single or multiple entry basis.
Entry Visa
Required for any foreigner arriving in Egypt for purposes other than tourism, e.g. work, study, etc. The possession of a valid Entry Visa is needed to complete the residence procedure in Egypt.
Business Visa
Required for any foreigner who wishes to travel to Egypt to discuss business matters with an Egyptian business/company or organisation.
Visa Requirements
♦ Applicants original passport with at least 6 months validity remaining.
♦ One (1) Application form: Please ensure that this form is fully filled, signed and dated at the bottom. Also, if a question does not apply to you please ensure that you write 'not applicable'.
♦ Two (2) passport size photographs.
♦ Appropriate applicable visa fee, please see below for current fees and acceptable forms of payment.
Note for Business Visas:
A letter from the Company in Australia or New Zealand requesting the issuance of entry business visa is also required, explaining the position of the applicant, purpose of visit and duration of stay. This letter must be printed on the companies own letter head and is preferred to be the original.
Travellers to the Arab Republic of Egypt are not allowed to carry more than USD10,000 or the equivalent in other foreign currencies in cash. Travelers are not allowed to carry more 5,000 Egyptian Pounds in cash. Additional cash must be declared upon port of entry.
Visa Fee
Applicable embassy visa fee as per above must be paid in cash or by money order/bank cheque payable to 'Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt'
Processing Time
Visas can be processed within 5-7 working days assuming that the required documents are provided and that the terms and conditions are met.
Once all applicable required forms and documentation has been fully completed and signed were applicable (as per above) and your passport is supplied, please send to our office in Canberra and we will begin the visa processing stage in association with the embassy. Please also ensure that once you have completed all applicable forms and supplied your passport that you also fully complete and signed
